Friendships beat Groceries

Far from the Akron center, deep in the woods live an ever- growing number of people. They're mostly shunned by society. When they emerge from the woods to the streets, the expressions on people's faces make them feel little, so the woods are a comfort away from judgement. The kids pictured don't bring judgement into the woods with them. Instead, they bring open minds and hearts, and they listen to the people who welcome us into their homes. There are no masks here, and there's no need for any. Everybody on these Wednesday nights sees everybody else as an equal and a friend. All is quite a refreshing breath. Pure acceptance. Pure freedom. Pure humanity.
